The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 一如既往喜欢日韩的同性感情影剧，细腻又真实。两个小时的确有些漫长，但沉浸其中的我感到放松舒缓，夏天的海边，宁静的小屋，从容的聊天，两人的相视一笑，都是我很向往的。
卡司挺多，有些片段也很到位，新人导演值得期待

反正我觉的挺好的，不知道为何分数这么低先，大崔的首部导演作品吧，看得出很多用心的地方，喜剧效果也还不错，正能量的立意也还行，刀爷的演技出色，四人的黑衣墨镜小片段实在摇曳。
个人觉得可以直接从一小时三十分开始看 就会更清楚两女主感情时间线是怎么连上的 假设堇还活着 真奈没有看到录像带 是不是两人有可能依旧不会在一起 整部剧表达出来的感情戏实在太隐晦了 堇手上带着的发圈也是蓝色的 就像大海的颜色 也伏笔了她的命运是吗 看完还是有点感慨习惯记录生活点滴的重要性 要是录像带在堇还活着的时候就给了真奈 结局可能就不一样了
其实挺好的，除了有点煽情过度，最后的彩蛋也挺好玩的。

我以为它会像一杯挺好喝的茶，喝完就算了，但当结尾与开头的动画衔接起来，被海浪打碎又涌起的气泡，从海面下远远看着那抹黄色的镜头，会是我深刻记住的触动。
滨边美波怎么会那么美啊！和岸井雪乃在一个画面里美得动人心魄。摄影已经做得相当不错。可惜导演想要表达得太多，却没有组成一个有机整体的能力。两位女主始终若即若离，导演的选择还是相当保守。最后半小时垮得乱七八糟，导演仿佛无法抉择使用哪一种结尾，于是把所有素材都粘贴在片尾上了。开头的动画会在结尾揭示它的涵义，但个人觉得选择动画并不是高明之举。
其他的都挺好的，但是最后强调钱包是为什么？？没看懂这个
