The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 完成度已经很高了，说实话这种类型的电影剧本真的很难做到完美无瑕。悬疑部分算是有惊无险地完成了，一番一番层层递进感官刺激够强，但就观感而言内涵动机似乎稍微弱了一些些；喜剧部分穿插得也好，而且难得的是随着剧情的推进，人物其实是越来越立得住的。到最后竟有了一丝佛意，像大梦幻灭一场，一群小人物肝胆相照、舍身取义，做了件天大的事情，最后只留下了一部烂片、一艘沉船和一张照片，有意义吗？没有意义吗？这不是一个问题，也不需要你的回答。
扎实的剧本，精彩的群戏，恰到好处的舞台剧质感，以及自然不生硬的笑点。整体节奏紧凑不拖沓，戏剧性营造的很足。

留白很多，当李家辉以为自己掌握了真相，或许是齐乐山帮他策划的真相，暗线在明线下隐藏，而暗线又有很多解读，很不错
剧本真的好扎实 演员的劲儿也很好 中间穿插的包袱也很喜欢 看完了内心有点澎湃 万万没想到都多久了啊
非常认真，仅凭着这就超过了至少80%的国产作品。但是什么都想说，什么都想说清楚，但这样电影的节奏就不清不楚了。感受到对人性和情感，非常想要充分的表达。关爱女性。新闻电影等媒体如何保持本心。相信主创团队还可以进步。

如果一部片子靠个好剧本而不再注重于打磨拍摄、表演和台词本身的话，顶多也算是投机取巧。导演充斥着控制不住的表达欲，甚至还拿周杰伦《爸，我回来了》的歌词下手，闹哄哄的“致敬”了80年代的杰作《闪灵》，诉苦了影视业的“现状”，一篓子的酱油戏，当是在做什么，拍综艺吗？剧本杀这玩意，我以前总觉得是从电影里引申出的灵感，昆汀的《八恶人》我觉得是非常成功的例子；把一部电影搞得像儿戏，这难道不是买椟还珠吗，影视向市场作妥协，完完全全的倒退
真正意义上的一出好戏。迷影元素是有的，而且可以看得出创作者对历史对文化是有一定程度的知晓的。但是提一句“威亚”在那时候应该是未出现的话语。所以在细节上是有些问题。本片让人敬佩的提出了很多口号。无论是关于记忆清除，踩灭火苗，还是艺术家的良心，都是对当代环境和现象的讽刺和鞭笞。在恶的环境中引人向真相靠近，向善意靠近。有些傻却很可爱的信念感。
1.作为一部“元电影”，完成度极高，剧情流畅，反转自然，可与《摄影机不要停》比肩。2.对影视从业者的自嘲一针见血：“十个项目九个凉，商业投资很正常”，却又不乏自勉之情。3.还是一部迷影电影，致敬了《王牌特工》《闪灵》《无间道》《英雄本色》等影片。4.“权力是暂时的，欢笑是永恒的。”张本煜和余皑磊对峙一幕，想到了《让子弹飞》里的张麻子和黄四爷。角色虽不同，却有异曲同工之妙。
意料之外的好看。可能今年玩剧本杀比较多，看的过程，感觉是在玩一个还原本，经历了层层推理和搜证。动作戏，有了，感情戏，有了，戏中戏，也有了。关键是还很好笑，浮夸的演技在一座凶宅里可太有张力了。

万合天宜在早年的网络剧时代积攒了不少正经的经验 是这个短视频时代所没有的 剧本经过了推敲和思考 虽然没办法做到每个细节都能够四两拨千斤但也比绝大部分的国产剧情要好上几个档次 前半部分有致敬自己的嫌疑 喜剧部分相比而言确实拉胯 最后的反转是即使承载了这么多使命成片依然是个大烂片
可以看出剧组对剧本的打磨还是下了功夫，各种细节铺垫，各种迷影情结，各种套路反转，各种隐喻讽刺，歌舞繁华的背后隐藏的罪恶的真相到底是什么，小人物舍生保卫的真相又是什么，历史上这种事件太多太多，不忍细看。
东野圭吾feel，还是能按着《不速来客》打的。
整片格局还不如一期明星大侦探，绝大多数篇幅都在胡闹，但又不如找个撒贝宁来得好笑，本格推理部分全然不及格，前半部看得我都要昏睡过去了，只有在如白夜行般社会推理部分才勉强捞回点分数。
两星半。演技和调度都很烂，能抓住观众的是各种风格来一套，外加夜莺故事拍的还算成功（夜莺选角不错）。
演员表演各方面都感觉不错，不知道为什么，总是感觉尹正有点用力过猛。小姨妈越来越好看。
比预想的好。别的不谈，余皑磊那一小段给人的感觉很震撼。
