其实很明白老而弥坚的东木导演自导自演这部电影的心境，宝刀已老，虽然曾驰骋疆场，但现在却难堪大用，心理落差可见一斑。电影里的故事情节体现出了东木导演牛仔气质的一面，为了保护心爱的女人孩子离开家。但是故事情节和人物成长都太单薄了。
