The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 令人热泪盈眶，印象深刻的点有三处。第一是以往用得最多的被制度化里面嵌套了经得起推敲的侦探推理（救猫咪害人不浅），本来以为学院里的故事会是老一套的“分数之争”，结果剧情走向比这一层高出不少，也彻底没有了千篇一律复制粘贴的动画群杂形象，制作上也属精良。第二是反派们其实并不是真的“坏”，校长不坏、AI不坏、第一名不坏、风间不坏，他们只是各行其是，却给主角团造成了天然的阻碍（当然了其中也确实还有逻辑生硬的部分）。第三是关于青春是什么的阐述太能让人共情，青春是如此复杂，只要日后能笑着回忆起来的，都是值得的青春，而最让人动容的可能是小新爸妈那两句，青春是“曾经拥有”，青春也是“此时此刻”。
如果只有唯一的制式标准来评价一个学生是不是“精英”，会发生什么？当原本的“精英学生”不再符合标准，又会发生什么？而内里还有更丰富的情感内核：什么是青春？内卷成为“精英”才叫青春吗？恋爱、发光、自卑感、后悔、道义、孤独、狂欢、当下……青春在每个人心里都有不同的自由形状，自己才能给自己答案。那些未来可能因为发展不同而渐行渐远的朋友，也都是这段青葱的重度参与者。
真的太喜欢小新了，风间你这个傲娇受也只有小新能受得了你。他们是终于幼儿园升小学了么😂

超惊喜之作！万万没想到这部剧场版会是如此纯正的本格推理。案件并不复杂，但贯穿案件的所有人物和所有剧情，都超级让人感动欢喜！新风CP算是一辈子锁死了，五小之间的友情让人忍不住想要落泪。
青春啊！马拉松那段真的眼眶湿润，连小时候看的动画都开始赚眼泪了。“嘲笑努力的人会被秃鹰揪光头发”小新看起来不靠谱，但是他的心是精英～
这不比博人传燃？（没想到蜡笔小新这么有意思，完全不是我小时候记忆中的样子啊，感觉错过一个亿）

通过卡通的演绎方法指出一个问题，精英就是和常人不同。

近年来《蜡笔小新》除了新婚旅行之外的几部剧场版都做得很不错，这一部里的几个配角都塑造得比较成功，性格各有特色，悬疑部分也不错

既然每个人都能够用作弊的方法称为超级精英，那超级精英的意义何在？胡闹的坦荡过一生才是真快乐。结尾特别有香港贺岁片那种大团圆的糊弄感
剧情接的有点突兀，剧本想表达的还是太大了，做成系列剧会比较好哦
一个已经失去了童心的人只想被马桶搋子咬一口，并且希望小新那样的傻瓜们就自娱自乐去吧。
