The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 一代有一代的纯爱。在我看来就是《一公升眼泪》+《恋空》的合体。感动是有的，属于回味前叙那两个作品年代的感官残留而言。不过话说回来，日式纯爱的制胜必杀技其实并不于内容在同类作品中脱颖而出（内容决胜那就超越题材的比拼了），而是主角之间的化学反应和拥有日式青春特有的初恋脸。（当然这部两人的脸我是吃的尤其是小松菜奈，我的爱）
比韩延，文牧野之流还要毒，要不然能把娃字幕人员翻译哭，但是结果不一定好。很难不想到《滚蛋吧肿瘤君》，可是白百何坦然面对，迎接死亡。而小松菜奈丝毫不放弃活下去的欲望，最后还是被无情的偷走。说好不谈恋爱，最后还是带着爱离开去了。无情的自私比伟大的奉献好很多，从头到尾只为了自己。（看短发的小松菜奈总感觉lisa在演戏，下一秒k pop魂爆发…坂口健太郎好帅好可爱～～）
节奏有很大问题，推进的太硬，拍的也不抓人，没能很好的调动起情绪，以至于就剩下了演员用力的表演.

《向着明亮那方》由七个小故事组成，从故事本身来说，每个故事都很简单，但简单并不代表弱智，简简单单的故事配上充满创意的讲述方式，让人在简单之中可以看到很多哲学——亲子的哲学、兄弟相处的哲学、走出痛苦的哲学、打工人创造生活的哲学……这一点是最难得的。更为难得的是，这部电影还将当下现实中的热点新闻变成了感人至深的小故事，在讲好故事的同时，还巧妙地反映了现实。
小松这个外形还能再演十年高中生。
喜欢！！！每个作品都好用心，糖水铺搅糖水的转场还有水塘里的倒影真的好棒！南天门是电梯门的设计好可爱，玉皇大帝和王母娘娘是不是爷爷奶奶？蓝色铁皮柜轮椅的旁白是原作兼导演啊虽然生涩但是感情是真挚的感染力强得难以置信……夸不完啦都是惊喜。音乐好用心！！！我要夸夸bgm太完美了和剧情发展贴合到恰到好处
看出品方有凯叔，还挺激动的。这是凯叔献给孩子们的灵魂交响曲呀！我家孩子可以说是从小听着凯叔的故事长大的，里面很多故事在我这样一个中年人看来都颇多感慨，不知道他小小的脑子里是怎么理解的。让人意外的是，整个观影过程中他十分认真，不吵不闹，安安静静看完了整部电影，老父亲很是欣慰啊！
每一处的感情递进都觉得生硬牵强……但能看nana和ken酱谈恋爱还算满足了
哭湿衣服。在死亡面前，其他任何困扰都变得微不足道，Nana轻声问医生特效药研制出来了吗的时候，我好难过。我能为她一样的人做什么，我在做什么，如果我在十年前有胶囊，肯定很为自己十年后的平庸无为感到难过。为什么有活着的机会却不珍惜。六月在通宵了快一周中结束，投出去了让我痛苦和厌恶很久的工作，做了最坏的打算，可惜这三年如烟，记忆都是零碎。樱花真美，DV里你过去的面庞真美。
nana真好看，是不是所有悲剧的内核都是遗憾
小松菜奈好美，但这两个人的爱情都太他吗自私了吧……真的是爱吗？给三星纯粹是因为镜头语言好棒！小松菜奈好美！
中规中矩…节奏是真的有点慢了 还是老套的互相救赎的故事

妈呀，我就是河南郏县人，看外婆的铁皮柜轮椅直接哭成了狗。真的，那地道的方言一出，蝉鸣、玩弹珠、麦秸垛、院子里乘凉，所有关于童年的回忆瞬间涌上了心头。在我小时候，爹娘常常因为忙着种地收庄稼，就把我送到外婆家。那时候跟外婆可亲了，反倒是后来上学、工作、去外地，和外婆的见面越来越少了。可当外婆离开的时候，我发现自己哭得撕心裂肺，树欲静而风不止，人只有当失去的时候才发现很多东西的珍贵。
摄影、音乐、剪辑配合好好喔。弱剧情，重情绪，小松菜奈可以的。不是轰轰烈烈非你不可的爱情，而是平凡且有力量的联系，让生命有活力。（看着6.9略低了些还是四星吧
一分是因为流加本人，一分是因为nana。nana演技进步好大啊！但作为一个绝症患者本人，对这种商业片视角拍摄的“绝症爱情”已经毫无感觉了……这种视角拍摄的流水账剧情让我感觉到讽刺，所以全程面无表情看完。
就……非常套路的绝症纯爱片……小松菜奈和健太郎演得都还不错，但是剧本真的一言难尽……
规规矩矩的日式浪漫电影。不得不说，这么多年过去，日影这滤镜依旧很好看。
